SARGA.CO – A remarkable moment unfolded in the 1,200-meter Class 2-Year-Old Beginner C/D Non-Finalist race at the IHR–Indonesia Derby 2025. From the outer lane, a mare named Kimberly surged in the final seconds, stealing the spotlight. Not a favorite, not a top seed—but she delivered a stunning performance most unexpectedly.
The light-bay mare, a progeny of Tuscaloosa x Ratu Singosari, represented Amigo Stable (East Java). Though she had failed to advance to the finals in an earlier heat, Kimberly proved that a champion’s spirit is not defined by a single poor result.
From the moment the gates opened, Inna Fatahna T.A (Tombo Ati Stable – Central Java) shot forward to seize the lead. Behind her, Bulan Sabit and Kimberly kept close watch. For half the race, Inna and Bulan Sabit engaged in a fierce duel, swapping places and leaving no room for error. But the entire atmosphere on the track shifted in the final 400 meters.
From the outside, Kimberly began to open her stride. In an instant, she swept past Inna and Bulan Sabit, both of whom had started to lose rhythm. Her blistering final sprint sealed the victory spectacularly.
Another surprise came from Cassius Warrior, a black colt representing Amigo Stable (East Java) and likewise sired by Tuscaloosa. Coming from behind, he overtook Inna Fatahna right at the finish line to claim second place, leaving Inna to settle for third.
Kimberly’s victory is a reminder that a qualifying setback is never the end of a racehorse’s journey. Even from the Non-Finalist category, a star’s potential can still shine. With her “closer” style—patient early, explosive late—Kimberly showed she has what it takes to go much further in future high-profile races.
Amigo Stable’s consistent backing was also on full display, with their horses taking both first and second place—a sign that East Java’s new generation of racehorses is entering a golden era.
Marking the national energy company’s commitment to supporting the growth of equestrian sports in the country.
