SARGA.CO – The thunder of hooves from South Kalimantan echoed powerfully at the IHR–Indonesia Derby 2025, held at Sultan Agung Racetrack in Bantul, Yogyakarta. Despite bringing a youthful squad, this contingent didn’t go home empty-handed—on the contrary, they showcased the promising potential of Indonesia’s future racehorses.
Two of HBM Stable’s top horses—P. Musang King (ridden by Salman Farid) and P. Hajar secured first place in their respective classes.
P. Musang King dominated the 1,200-meter Class (Race 4), while P. Hajar displayed impressive stamina in the 3-Year-Old Youth 1,600-meter Class (Race 8).
Adding to South Kalimantan’s pride, Putri Barbara, ridden by Agung Saidil, claimed second place in the 2-Year-Old Novice 1,200-meter Class.
South Kalimantan’s PORDASI (Indonesian Horse Racing Association) fielded 10 young racehorses to compete in this prestigious event. While they fell short of their initial goal of five gold medals, the trainers and officials remain optimistic.
Judging by their performance on the track, these young horses only need time. Their speed and competitive spirit are promising. In future events, they’re expected to return faster, stronger, and more prepared to compete at a higher level.
This achievement sends a strong message: South Kalimantan is ready to emerge as a new powerhouse in Indonesia’s horse racing scene. With consistent training and unwavering passion, these young horses from South Kalimantan may well shine even brighter in the next IHR series.
The IHR–Indonesia Derby 2025 is one of the most prestigious events in the national horse racing calendar, bringing together dozens of stables and hundreds of the country’s finest horses to compete for the top podiums.
Marking the national energy company’s commitment to supporting the growth of equestrian sports in the country.
