Held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the Legok Jawa Horse Racing Arena in Pangandaran, the event will feature 18 racing classes categorized by age group and horse height.
3-Year-Old Class: The Birth of a New Champion Generation
One of the main highlights of the 2025 Merdeka Cup is the 3-Year-Old Derby (1,400 meters), which offers a prize of Rp50 million. This class is set to gather the best young horses born in 2022, who officially turn three on August 1, 2025.
It serves as an early indicator of the potential future champions who may dominate the racing scene next year—especially those likely to compete in the Triple Crown and the 2026 Indonesia Derby. 3-Year-Old Novice A/B & C/D – Debut races with distances of 1,200 m and 1,000 m

Senior Class: The Long Track for Veteran Champions
For horses aged over 3 years with more racing experience, the 2025 Merdeka Cup offers equally prestigious senior-level races. The main events are:
Open Class 2,000 Meters – Prize: Rp50 million
Open Sprint Class 1,300 Meters – Prize: Rp40 million
These races will be battlegrounds for seasoned champions—mature horses from top stables across Indonesia ready to showcase their endurance, speed, and technique on a demanding track.
The senior group also includes Classes C through J, featuring various distances and prize levels, creating broader opportunities for racehorses from all corners of the country.
