Held over a 2,000-meter distance, this elite race is the centerpiece of the National Championship Series II, staged every October, showcasing the best racehorses from provinces across the country.
More than just speed, this class demands stamina, strategy, and consistent performance to conquer the mid-to-long track. Unsurprisingly, the list of Star of Star champions features legendary names who have repeatedly triumphed and cemented their legacy.

Saud from Central Java stands as the most dominant horse in Star of Star history, clinching five consecutive victories (2010–2014) with jockey J. Turangan.
Djohar Manik, also from Central Java, earned three titles (2015, 2017, 2018) with two different jockeys.
In recent years, Queen Thalassa and Queen Divona from West Java have made waves, pushing jockey J. Runtu to the top spot three times in four years (2021, 2023, 2024).
While Central Java remains the region with the most titles overall, West Java’s rising dominance signals a shifting tide in Indonesia’s horse racing scene.
The race was not held in 2020 due to the pandemic, resuming again in 2021.
