Hoofprints in Fashion: Models Who Fell in Love with Horseback Riding

SARGA.CO – With their iconic uniforms of tailored riding jackets, slim jodhpurs, and knee-high boots, equestrian sports offer more than physical discipline and skill—they also embody one of the most elegant looks in the world of athletics.

This unique blend of fashion and athleticism makes horseback riding more than just a sport; it’s a lifestyle. No wonder many top models turn out to be true horse girls.

At first glance, modeling and horseback riding may seem like two different worlds. But dig deeper, and you’ll see both demand grace, self-control, and resilience under pressure. That’s why many international runway faces are just as skilled in the saddle as they are on the catwalk.

From Catwalk to Stable: Models Who Ride

Top models like Kendall Jenner and Edie Campbell don’t just shine in couture—they also thrive in equestrian arenas. For Kendall, the stables are a sanctuary, a place to escape the chaos of fashion. Edie Campbell, on the other hand, thrives on the competitive side of the sport, even winning titles in the discipline of dressage.

During Vogue World Paris 2024, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid made headlines when they rode two Andalusian horses—Django and Napo—around Place Vendôme while dressed in Hermès Fall 2024. But that wasn’t the last time Vogue brought horses to the spotlight. For the October 2025 cover, Kendall and Gigi rode through the wilds of Jackson, Wyoming, in a photoshoot that fused nature, fashion, and equestrian elegance.

Kendall Jenner: From Childhood Obsession to “Soul Food”

Kendall first climbed into the saddle at age four. Today, she owns four horses: Dylandra, Lady Bird, and Copernicus, along with a foal. For her, riding is more than a sport—it’s soul therapy.

“Every time I ride, it feels like recharging my energy. I’m away from my phone, away from work, and fully focused on guiding my horse over the obstacles,” Kendall shared in a Vogue Summer 2024 cover interview.

“It’s like food for the soul. I’ve loved this since I was little. Back then, I was obsessed—forgot about boys! When I’m at the stables, I feel like my old self again,” she added.

Bella Hadid: From Show Jumping to Rodeo

Meanwhile, Bella Hadid has fully embraced her cowgirl side. Active in Texas cutting horse competitions, she even filmed her 73 Questions segment in a horse stable. Bella and Gigi inherited their love of horses from their mother, Yolanda Hadid, herself an equestrian. Gigi once made a name for herself in show jumping before modeling took over, while Bella is increasingly active in rodeo arenas.

Other models like Amanda Murphy and Edie Campbell also compete seriously, especially in dressage. Together, they prove that modeling and horseback riding not only coexist—but also complement each other.

Where Fashion Meets Riding: Vogue’s Pages

The horse girl trend doesn’t just live in stables—it dazzles on the pages of Vogue. Kendall posed with her horses for the summer edition. Bella captivated in the saddle for Vogue Italia. Writer and former model Plum Sykes also turned heads, dressed in full equestrian gear.

Catwalk, Horses, and Charisma

For these models, riding isn’t just a hobby or an aesthetic—it’s a way of life. Fashion has long drawn inspiration from equestrian style, and today’s horse girls of the modeling world are reviving that spirit—with undeniable elegance, passion, and glamour.
