SARGA.CO – The Kubu Gadang Horse Racing Arena in Payakumbuh, West Sumatra, will host one of Indonesia’s premier equestrian events, the Indonesia Horse Racing (IHR) Cup II 2025, on Sunday, 28 September 2025. A total of 67 horses will compete across 13 race classes, vying for combined prize money of IDR 425 million.

As the first and only professional horse-racing promoter in Indonesia, SARGA.CO chose West Sumatra for its rich racing tradition, which dates back to the Dutch colonial era and remains a proud part of local culture.

Horses will arrive from regions including Batu Sangkar, Bukittinggi, Dharmasraya, Padang, Padang Panjang, Pariaman, Payakumbuh, and Solok, as well as from West Java, Central Java, and DI Yogyakarta.

One of West Sumatra’s standout competitors is Romantic Spartan from Padang Panjang, third-place finisher at the 2025 Indonesia Derby and multiple national podium winner, who will run in the 4-Year-Old A/B 1,600 m class.

The IHR Cup will also feature an exhibition of horseback archery (HBA) athletes from West Sumatra, adding extra excitement to the event.

Blending professionalism with local wisdom, Aseanto Oudang hopes the championship will not only entertain spectators but also showcase regional potential, nurture new “rising stars,” and raise the performance of participating athletes.
 

With the venues' proximity to each other in Payakumbuh, the public can easily plan their trip and visit the Sarga Festival and IHR Cup 2025 on Saturday and Sunday, September 27-28, 2025.

SARGA.CO offers three viewing areas for the IHR Cup 2025: the grandstand area with an entrance fee of Rp 50,000, the regular area with an entrance fee of Rp 10,000, and the free area, which does not require an entrance fee.

Tickets for the Sarga Festival are now on sale, starting at Rp 35,000, after the Rp 20,000 tickets sold out earlier this week.

The 2025 IHR Cup II Championship is supported by Arsari Tambang, Le Minerale, Pertamina, Semen Indonesia Group (SIG) and Semen Padang, RM Payakumbuh, and Vitalong C. In addition to watching live at the Kubu Gadang Horse Racing Arena in Payakumbuh, the 2025 IHR Cup II can also be streamed on Metro TV and Vision+ on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
