SARGA.CO – The year 2025 left behind many unforgettable moments from the horse racing championships held as part of Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) series. Beyond the birth of Indonesia’s third Triple Crown winner, the national horse racing scene gained wider recognition thanks to the presence of celebrities who brought fresh attention to the sport.
From the racetrack itself, spectators were treated to one of the most thrilling moments of the year when Dominator and Princess Gavi crossed the finish line almost simultaneously in one of the race classes.
To relive those sweet memories, here are the 5 Best Moments of the Year as compiled by the SARGA.CO team.
Do you remember the Class A Super Sprint 1,300-meter race at the IHR Championship: the 59th PORDASI National Horse Racing Championship Series II? The race, held at Sultan Agung Racecourse in Yogyakarta, featured a heated showdown between Dominator and Princess Gavi.
As the main race of the day, the Class A Super Sprint delivered drama from the opening break all the way to the finish line. The first moment of tension came right at the start.
Dominator broke cleanly and immediately took the lead at the front of the pack. Princess Gavi, on the other hand, was less fortunate, starting the race from the rear. However, the situation began to change with 300 meters remaining before the finish.
Entering the final turn, Princess Gavi began to show her reputation as a strong finisher. On the home straight, she surged forward like a flying horse, overtaking the runners in second and third positions to challenge Dominator head-on.
The second dramatic moment unfolded at the finish line. Dominator and Princess Gavi crossed almost together, forcing the judges to determine the winner through a photo finish. The image revealed that Princess Gavi finished first by the narrowest of margins—just a horse’s nose.
