SARGA.CO – The Indonesian Association of Indonesian Equestrian Sports' Commission of Horse Breeding, Health and Registration (Komisi PKRK PP PORDASI) held a Seminar for Indonesian Horse Certificate (SKI) Verifiers at PORDASI HQ Jakarta on Friday (23 May 2026). It represents a strategic step by Komisi PKRK to unify the perspectives of SKI verifiers at the central and regional levels to establish a valid, verified, and integrated Indonesian horse registration system.

The SKI programme itself is currently one of Komisi PKRK PP PORDASI’s main priorities for modernising horse data collection and identification in Indonesia. Through this seminar, verifiers are expected to develop shared understanding and working mechanisms throughout the registration process up to the issuance of SKIs.

The event was attended by 20 participants from various regions, the majority of whom are veterinary surgeons. The seminar featured three speakers, who are also SKI verifiers at the Komisi PKRK level. They were Dr Elita Sally, Dr Agung Dwi Riyanto, and Sunandar Prihanto, S.H..

The seminar examined regulations, operational standards, issues and potential solutions for the dynamics encountered in the field during implementation.

In the opening session, Sunandar Prihanto outlined the vision, mission, and objectives of the SKI implementation - covering all stages of the horse registration process, from registration to issuing certificates. He also emphasised the importance of the role of verifiers at the provincial management level in maintaining the validity of registration data.

“Verifiers are the spearheads of the SKI programme, particularly in verifying the horses to be included in the SKI registration database. Their role is crucial because it is the results of their verification that form the basis of the SKI data,” said Sunandar.

Meanwhile, Dr Elita Sally, who presented the technical material, stressed the significance of complete data in the SKI issuance process so that administration can run more quickly and efficiently.

She also urged PP PORDASI to be more proactive in the case of a return of documents from the central verifiers regarding administrative completeness.

“Broadly speaking, there are four forms that must be completed in full and in detail: the registration form, the horse breeding form, the horse birth form, and the horse marking diagram form, supported by a pedigree list and documentation in accordance with SKI standards,” explained Elita.

What was also covered were the technical aspects of creating horse marking diagrams, presented by Dr Agung Dwi Riyanto. According to him, the standardisation of marking diagrams is a key element in the national horse identification system.

“This seminar also provided information on how to create correct and standardised horse marking diagrams. A horse marking diagram is a unique mark or distinctive feature that allows us to distinguish one horse from another. Horse marking diagrams are also a crucial part of the SKI register,” explained Dr Agung Dwi Riyanto.
