SARGA.CO – The 2025 Kelud National Horseback Archery (HBA) Championship officially concluded, leaving a positive legacy for the Indonesian equestrian archery world. Held at Kelud Raceway, Ngancar District, Kediri Regency, on December 6–7, 2025, the event was attended by 72 HBA athletes from 17 provinces, making it the championship with the highest number of participants in the history of the National HBA Championship.
East Java Reigns Supreme Again
Competing as the host, the East Java contingent successfully emerged as the Overall Champion by winning 2 gold and 3 silver medals. The gold medals were contributed by: Aqilah Fathiyah El Haq — Triple Shoot U16, and Abdurrahman — Triple Shoot Junior.
Meanwhile, the three silver medals were secured through Aqilah’s performance in Triple Shoot Women, as well as Omar El Farooq Putra Alleut who claimed two silvers in Serial Shoot Senior and Indonesian Track Senior. Below East Java, the next positions were occupied by West Java (1 gold, 2 silver), Central Java (1 gold, 2 bronze), Banten (1 gold), West Sumatra (2 bronze), and Bali (1 bronze). In total, 17 provincial contingents competed in various categories such as Triple Shoot U16, Triple Shoot Junior, Triple Shoot Women, Serial Shoot Senior, and Indonesian Track Senior.
In addition to the main competition, this year’s championship also presented an Exhibition Ground Archery class, which was attended by 92 participants from 10 provinces. The event was officially opened by the Chairman of PP PORDASI, Aryo PS Djojohadikusumo.
“Alhamdulillah, the national championship ran smoothly without any issues, with the highest number of participants in its history. This proves the high level of trust from equestrian archery practitioners toward PP PORDASI,” said Deri, as quoted from Pordasi.id.
Deri also emphasized that under Aryo’s leadership, the HBA sport has experienced significant progress. One of the proofs was the successful organization of the Chairman’s Cup HBA Championship in May 2025 and the success of the Indonesian HBA National Team in achieving second place at the 2025 IHAA World Championships. In fact, two Indonesian athletes—Omar El Farooq Putra Alleut and Kaisar Akthar Firdauz—managed to break world records.
“Keep training and keep fighting. I and PP PORDASI are ready to support the best athletes to represent Indonesia at the international level,” said Aryo PS Djojohadikusumo to the athletes.
After the national championship, the Horseback Archery & Tent Pegging Commission of PP PORDASI immediately moved forward to prepare two important agendas: training and selection of Tent Pegging athletes on December 10–16, 2025.
The winners of the selection will represent Indonesia at the Qualification Round of the International Tent Pegging Federation (ITPF) World Championship in Jordan, at the end of January 2026.
