SARGA.CO – Indonesia’s equestrian sports and tourism sector is about to welcome a new landmark: a world-class horse racing arena to be built within the KEK Industropolis Batang. The project goes beyond racing—it will also feature a golf course, exclusive villas, and family recreation zones, all integrated under the SunPark Village Club, Golf & Horse Race concept.
The development will be a collaboration between three key players: PT Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang (KITB), the operator of the special economic zone; PT Arena Pacu Nusantara (Sarga Land), Indonesia’s pioneer in equestrian sportainment; and Euro Asia Management, a renowned European resort developer.
Planned on a 200-hectare site located just one kilometer from the toll gate, construction is set to begin in 2026 after a feasibility study is completed in the next 2–3 months.
“At this stage, we cannot yet disclose the investment value as discussions and planning are still underway. After signing the MoU, a feasibility study will be conducted, combining concepts from Sarga and Euro Asia,” said Ngurah Wirawan, President Director of KEK Industropolis Batang, on Thursday, August 28, 2025.
The feasibility study will serve as the benchmark for assessing business viability. The final investment value and role-sharing scheme between KITB and the investors will only be determined once the project design and requirements are finalized.
Ngurah explained that the complex will be developed in a hillside area overlooking the sea, offering stunning scenery. Beyond sports tourism, its proximity to industrial zones and major infrastructure makes it a promising new magnet for both tourists and investors.
“This is our first step toward realizing President Prabowo’s vision of making Industropolis the ‘Shenzhen of Indonesia,’” Ngurah added. The project, he said, will combine recreation, lifestyle, sports, and investment into one ecosystem.
Aseanto Oudang, President Director of Sarga Land, emphasized that the company is honored to be part of this collaboration. With its expertise in horse racing, Sarga Land aims to create an inclusive sportainment hub—not only strengthening tourism but also generating a multiplier effect for local communities.
The joint project is expected to become a new tourism magnet for both domestic and international visitors while driving economic growth in Central Java. It also reinforces KEK Industropolis Batang’s position as a strategic economic hub.
Meanwhile, Louis Gerard Saliot, CEO of Euro Asia Management, highlighted Batang’s strong potential thanks to its population and connectivity. He said Euro Asia would bring a fresh concept focusing on family-oriented tourism as the cornerstone of the development.
