Before becoming the energetic horse girl in Uma Musume: Pretty Derby, Smart Falcon was a highly respected racehorse in Japan, especially in the dirt racing category.

Born on April 4, 2005, Smart Falcon was the progeny of Gold Allure—another dirt track legend—and showed exceptional potential from the very start of her career. She was trained by Ken Kozaki, owned by Green Farm, and most often ridden by Yutaka Take, one of Japan’s most iconic jockeys.
 

Smart Falcon was famous for her extreme front-runner style. From the moment she burst out of the starting gate, she would seize the lead and rarely allow any rival to close in. She was like a “shadow runner,” leaving the competition far behind right from the start.

Some of her iconic victories include: Japan Dirt Derby (2009), JBC Classic (2010, 2011), Teio Sho (2010, 2011, 2012), Kawasaki Kinen (2011, 2012), and Tokyo Daishoten (2010, 2011).

Over her career, Smart Falcon won 23 out of 34 races, earning over ¥1.5 billion in prize money. Remarkably, between 2010 and 2012, she achieved 10 consecutive wins—all on dirt tracks.
 

Smart Falcon retired in 2012 and passed away in 2020 at the age of 15 due to heart disease. Even so, her name lives on in racing history—and now, she gets the chance to “run again” as a Uma Musume character.

As a character, Smart Falcon embodies relentless determination, sharp race awareness, and a pure love for competition.

She will debut in the game starting August 11, 2025, as a 3-Star Trainee. She holds an A rating in two key categories: Mile (short–mid distance) and Medium (mid distance).
 

Her signature skill, SPARKLY STARDOM, is designed to maintain her lead and provide a power boost when other horses try to overtake mid-race. In other words? She’s not just fast—she knows how to defend her position, even under pressure.

From the early concept art released on the game’s official Twitter account, Smart Falcon exudes a glamorous, energetic vibe, with the aura of a true idol center. Her nickname, [LOVE☆4EVER], reflects her lively personality, her passion for the track, and her ability to win over new Trainers instantly.
