SARGA.CO - In a sport built on tradition, one Thoroughbred with a modern “internet brainrot” name continues to capture the eyes of the online horse racing world.
With the power of two “Gen-Alpha” slang terms, Skibidi Rizz has now earned his second career win after winning a claiming race at Thistledown Racecourse in Ohio, turning another routine race into a viral moment.
Despite the novelty meme-inspired name, Skibidi Rizz is a legitimate registered Thoroughbred competing on the American racing circuit.
The four-year-old chestnut gelding, sired by 2016 Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist out of Sinwaan, first became an online sensation in 2025 when race callers enthusiastically announced his unusual name during live broadcasts with full seriousness, particularly his maiden victory at Horseshoe Indianapolis.
Clips quickly spread across social media, leaving many people wondering whether "Skibidi Rizz" was actually a real racehorse.
Skibidi Rizz’s second career win came on 2 July in Race 3 at Thistledown, taking a one-mile dirt claiming race worth $11,800. He crossed the line ahead of Trouble Or Nothin, Axcel, Runningonhighlevel, and Noble Soul, improving his career record to two wins from 18 starts.
While this was already noteworthy enough, the race taking place in the US state of Ohio - another viral subject of “brainrot” memes – caused Skibidi Rizz’s victory to gain even more traction as jokes flooded in about how it was the most fitting location imaginable for the result.
Although Skibidi Rizz competes in claiming races rather than prime-time G1 races, his impact extends well beyond the racetrack.
His quirky name has sparked curiosity and intrigue among younger audiences who might never have otherwise watched a horse race, proving that online culture and Thoroughbred racing can cross paths in unexpected ways.
For many fans, Skibidi Rizz may have started as a joke, but with two wins now to his viral name, the internet-famous gelding looks to continue his career alongside his fame.
