SARGA.CO – The Djiugo Next Adventure (DNA) 2025 equestrian championship successfully took place over the long weekend of July 10–13 at Arthayasa Stable, Limo, Depok. Known as a welcoming event for newcomers and non-professional riders, DNA once again featured the two main disciplines of equestrian sport: Dressage and Show Jumping.
This year, DNA recorded a remarkable turnout with 838 athlete entries, involving around 227 horses from 44 stables across Java Island.
Equitation: The Educational Signature of DNA
What sets DNA apart from other equestrian championships is the inclusion of an Equitation scoring system. Beyond competition results, athletes are evaluated on their posture, technique, and basic horsemanship.
According to Reshwara Argya Radinal, President of the DNA Event and Founder of Djiugo—affectionately known as Reshi—this approach encourages participants to focus not only on winning but on improving their foundational riding skills.
“Through Equitation, we want athletes to learn how to ride correctly and cleanly, whether in Dressage or Show Jumping,” Reshi said.
From First-Timers to Future Pros
DNA also serves as an ideal setting to observe the growth of young athletes. Reshi cited notable progress in the Walk Trot class, where riders showed clear improvement compared to previous years.
“In the past, the goal was just to get the horse to turn. Now it’s neater, and riders’ positions have improved significantly,” he added.
Since 2022, DNA has adopted a combined team and individual format, adding diversity to the competition structure and offering a more comprehensive experience for all participants.
Champions of the Spotlight Classes
Among hundreds of competitors, two riders stood out in DNA 2025’s most prestigious events:
Mikaela Valerie Kurniawan of Aragon Orbit Equestrian delivered a commanding performance in the 70–80 cm Queens Cup Jumping Class, riding Savoy Lembang. She completed a Clear Round in 42.20 seconds, earning 65 accumulator points out of 40 competitors.
In the top-tier 110 cm Individual Jumping Class, the contest came down to a thrilling Jump Off. Raya Andhika of AR Team Equestrian, riding Cavani Z, secured a dramatic win with a Clear Round in 34.39 seconds, edging out the runner-up by just 0.16 seconds.
DNA: A Launchpad for Greater Achievement
Reshi hopes DNA will continue to serve as a learning ground and performance incubator for Indonesia’s rising equestrian talents. With technical training and competitive exposure from this event, riders are expected to eventually compete on national and international stages.
“DNA isn’t just about winning—it’s about building the right foundation in riding. From here, we hope to nurture strong athletes who can elevate Indonesia’s equestrian sports to the next level,” Reshi concluded.
