SARGA.CO – Wonder Land’s name may have been absent from the racetrack in recent months, but for horse-racing fans, her shadow is still vivid: the jragem mare who once became the biggest threat to King Argentin in the battle for the 2025 Triple Crown.
Twice, Wonder Land stunned the national arena. In Triple Crown Series 1 and 2, she secured the runner-up position, sticking closely behind King Argentin and leaving the public wondering whether she would be able to turn the tables in the decisive final series.
But in Series 3 last July, a surprise unfolded. Wonder Land failed to reach the podium. After that, she disappeared from the spotlight—no news, no follow-up races. Many began questioning the fate of this fierce challenger.
The latest update comes directly from her owner, Dedi Novaldi, in a conversation with SARGA News. “She’s not racing anymore; now she’s a broodmare,” Dedi revealed.
The decision may come as a surprise to some fans, considering Wonder Land is only 4 years old—a stage when racehorses are typically still in their prime. But behind the decision lies a long-term plan: to carry Wonder Land’s excellence into the next generation.
Wonder Land, sired by Dubai’s Choice and out of Wonder Woman, indeed has a strong bloodline. Her performance on the track proved the quality of that genetic makeup. For that reason, transitioning her into a broodmare is not a step backward—it’s a strategy.
Dedi shared that Wonder Land was just bred in early November to stallion Da Vinci Eclipse, a sire known for producing offspring with strong speed and stamina. This pairing sparks hope. If destiny aligns, Wonder Land’s foal could be a future championship contender.
From the Racetrack to the Fields of West Sumatra
After retiring from competition, Wonder Land returned to West Sumatra, her birthplace. There, she is beginning a calmer life, far from the noise of the start gate and the intense daily training schedule.
For a racehorse, transitioning from the competitive circuit to broodmare duties is a major shift—but also an honor. Only horses with the finest quality are chosen to carry forward a line of champions.
Wonder Land’s Legacy Ahead
Though she no longer runs on the track, Wonder Land’s name lives on. Twice a Triple Crown runner-up is no small achievement. She was the symbol of grit, the closest rival to the champion, and the horse that brought thrilling dynamics to the 2025 Triple Crown series.
Now, the public awaits the next chapter: her first foal. In the world of horse racing, sometimes the greatest legends are not only about what they achieved, but what they leave behind.
