SARGA.CO – Alongside Star of Stars, the Super Sprint is one of the most anticipated race classes in the Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) – 59th Pordasi National Championship Series II, held at the Sultan Agung Racecourse, Bantul, Yogyakarta, on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
Since 2009, the event has seen the nation’s finest racehorses from various regions claim victory — some of them even more than once.
Naturally, fans are eager to know which horses will compete this year. Two strong contenders are predicted to appear: Princess Gavi and Dominator.
With a distance of only 1,300 meters, the Super Sprint demands explosive speed from the very start, precise positioning, and peak stamina in a short burst. This is where the trainer’s precision, jockey’s skill, and horse’s instinct are truly put to the test.
The Super Sprint Indonesia isn’t just about speed — it’s about consistency, temperament, and heart. With renowned names such as Djohar Manik, Queen Thalassa, and Balerion Nagari, the event has become one of the most eagerly awaited by horse racing fans across the country.
Queen Thalassa is the only horse on record to win twice (2019 and 2024), both times ridden by jockey J. Runtu, solidifying her status as a sprinting legend. Djohar Manik also achieved back-to-back victories in 2014 and 2016, under jockey J. Turangan.
West Java Province has dominated the last decade, collecting six titles since 2015.
Jockey J. Runtu holds four championship titles with three different horses (Queen Diamond, Dragon Runner, Queen Thalassa, and Luxotica), making him one of the most successful jockeys in Super Sprint history.
