SARGA.CO – Among the 18 race classes featured in the Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) – 59th Pordasi National Championship Series II, one stands out as the most anticipated event: Star of Stars. The race is scheduled for Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the Sultan Agung Racecourse, Bantul, Yogyakarta.
Covering a distance of 2,200 meters, this class is not just about speed. It demands iron endurance, tactical precision, and extensive racing experience to claim victory. It’s no surprise that the names of past champions in this category have become legends of the track.
So, which top horses from across the country will compete in the Star of Stars class this year? Fans are buzzing with anticipation. Two strong contenders are predicted to take part: Queen Devona and Naga Sembilan.
The Star of Stars Indonesia champions list has long been filled with legendary names who have etched their mark in racing history.
From Central Java, the horse Saud remains the most dominant in the event’s history, with five consecutive victories (2010–2014) under jockey J. Turangan. Another Central Java horse, Djohar Manik, earned three titles (2015, 2017, 2018) with two different jockeys.
In recent years, Queen Thalassa and Queen Devona from West Java have shone brightly, carrying jockey J. Runtu to the top three times in four years (2021, 2023, and 2024).
While Central Java still holds the record for the most titles, West Java’s dominance is increasingly evident in this new era. The event was not held in 2020 due to the pandemic, but resumed in 2021, reigniting the national racing spirit.
With the competition tightening and the quality of Indonesian racehorses improving every year, fans can look forward to discovering who will become the next shining star on the 2,200-meter track.
