SARGA.CO – The atmosphere at the Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) Cup II at Kubu Gadang Racecourse, Payakumbuh, West Sumatra suddenly took on a unique twist. Amid the thunder of hooves and cheers from the crowd, a group of young men and women appeared dressed as characters from the popular horse-racing anime Uma Musume: Pretty Derby.
They were members of the Uma Musume Communities of West Sumatra and Pekanbaru, who showed up to enliven the event and add a fresh splash of color to the national horse-racing championship. Their presence not only captivated local spectators but even caught the attention of Netkeiba, one of Japan’s largest horse-racing websites!
What began as a hobby has now grown into a way of helping keep the legendary horse-racing tradition alive. Their enthusiasm made the races even more exciting!
But this community’s presence was more than just cosplay. They came with a mission: to bridge Japanese pop culture with the deep-rooted horse-racing traditions of the Minangkabau land. The Uma Musume fan club brought posters, banners, and even hosted a mini fan meet around the racecourse grounds.
Even more exciting, the SARGA.CO team, as the official promoter of Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR), also held a special meeting with representatives of Cygames Indonesia and the Uma Musume Indonesia Community. The discussion opened the door for potential creative collaborations between fans, the game publisher, and horse-racing organizers.
Umazing! With such enthusiasm, a fun new collaboration may be on the horizon. Curious to see what’s coming next? Stay tuned!
