SARGA.CO – The 2026 horse racing season may still be several months away, but the competition among top contenders for the upcoming season is already heating up. One of the horses set to intensify the battle for next year’s Indonesia Derby comes from West Sumatra.
Meet Milea Guti, a new equine idol from the Minangkabau land whose performances this year have left many in awe. Known as a natural frontrunner, the striking chestnut filly has dazzled audiences with her blistering speed in every race she contests.
Do you remember the Indonesia Horse Racing (IHR) Cup II at Kubu Gadang Racecourse, Payakumbuh, West Sumatra, in September 2025?
Competing in Class 3, Two-Year-Old Derby Prospect Division I over 1,400 meters, Milea burst forward the moment the starting gate opened. She was never challenged by her six rivals and secured the SARGA.CO Trophy, with a total prize purse of Rp85 million.
The name Milea—given to the filly who will turn three in 2026—was chosen with purpose. It symbolizes her beauty, fitting for a horse standing 159 centimeters tall.
But don’t be fooled by her looks. Behind that elegant appearance, Milea Guti turns fierce on the track. Champion blood flows through her veins.
Milea Guti is a KP6-bred horse, the result of an independent breeding program crossing the pure thoroughbred stallion Raja Biaro with Aleska, a mare of KP5 lineage.
As a true frontrunner, Milea Guti immediately takes command from the start. Trained by Tripan Eri during the IHR Cup II, she is known for maintaining a strong, consistent racing rhythm throughout the course.
Behind her speed and growing list of achievements, Milea Guti once delivered a shocking moment in her career debut at the Sawahlunto Derby 2024.
Competing in the two-year-old maiden A/B class over 800 meters, her debut became a heart-stopping spectacle. Before entering the gate, the 159 cm-tall filly broke free from her groomer and galloped alone for half a lap.
Yet that dramatic incident revealed her champion mentality. Despite the chaos, Milea Guti still managed to finish second, an impressive result that hinted at her immense potential.
As time passed and her maturity grew, Milea Guti’s performances continued to climb from one podium to the next. The peak came when she claimed first place in the three-year-old class over 1,300 meters at the Sawahlunto Derby 2025.
That victory cemented her status as a fan favorite and officially crowned her as West Sumatra’s best horse of the 2025 season.
The form and achievements she displayed this year will serve as a strong foundation for the future. Next season, the beautiful chestnut filly is setting a bold new target—as a challenger and potential champion of the Indonesia Derby 2026.
No longer confined to regional competition, Milea Guti is ready to showcase her speed and stamina on the national stage, proving she is prepared to step up in class and compete among Indonesia’s elite racehorses.
