SARGA.CO – Horseback riding has evolved beyond an elite activity—it’s now a modern lifestyle, especially among Indonesian celebrities. Though considered extreme and costly, the allure of equestrianism continues to captivate many stars.
At well-known venues like Jakarta International Equestrian Park (JIEP), anyone can learn to ride for around IDR 300,000 per session.
Other spots, such as Equinara and Trijaya Equestrian, offer similar classes ranging from IDR 200,000 to 300,000, suitable for beginners and professionals.
In Bali, unique seaside rides at Bali Horse Riding, Saba Beach, cost between IDR 200,000 for a 30-minute session and IDR 850,000 for a full 1.5-hour ride—including gear, a professional guide, and insurance.
For some celebrities, horseback riding has become more than a hobby—it’s a business opportunity and a platform to nurture young talent. Actress Nabila Syakieb, also a professional equestrian, is a shining example.
Together with her husband, Reshwara Argya Ardinal, Nabila founded Djiugo Next Adventure, an annual event supporting the development of young, aspiring athletes, especially children.
Not to be outdone, Zaskia Sungkar turned her passion into fashion. Through her label Majestic Mare, under Zaskia Sungkar Signature, she launched a line of stylish, functional equestrian wear.
Her signature products include body-fit base layers that ensure comfort and safety during riding sessions.
This isn’t just a passing trend. Horseback riding in Indonesia is rapidly gaining professional recognition.
In fact, equestrian sports will be officially included in the 2025 SEA Games, marking the government's and public's serious commitment to the sport, which has been practiced in Indonesia since 1966.
One sign of its rise is the BNI Indonesia's Horse Racing Triple Crown Series 1 and Pertiwi Cup 2025 held in Bantul, Yogyakarta—a national event showcasing the sport’s growing popularity.
Many celebrities have joined the movement. Anya Geraldine frequently shares her training sessions on social media, while Raya Kohandi and Wahyu recently won first place in the Team Obstacle Show Jumping Indonesia (TOSI) competition aired on SCTV in 2025.
For these stars, horseback riding is not just about being in the saddle—it’s about commitment, lifestyle, legacy, and yes, a profitable pursuit
