SARGA.CO – Indonesia continues to produce world-class equestrian athletes, and one of the brightest young stars today is Nusrtdinov Zayan Fatih.
The Padang Panjang-born rider, affectionately called Dinov, is on a trailblazing journey to become one of Indonesia’s equestrian legends.
Born on April 22, 2010, Dinov has amassed a jaw-dropping 182 gold medals in just four years—a feat few could have imagined.
While most children were learning to ride bicycles at age eight, Dinov was already learning to tame horses.
Two years later, he entered his first competition—and since then, the tracks have never stopped echoing his name.
Over four years of competition, Dinov has collected a staggering 307 medals, comprising:
His most recent victories include the Jakarta Governor’s Cup 2025 (115 cm class) and a sweep at the CSI International (110–130 cm class), both held in Pulomas, East Jakarta.
“As far as I know, the Governor’s Cup has been around for a while, but it only added a junior category this year, so this was my first time competing,” Dinov explained humbly.
To him, the biggest challenge isn’t beating others, but overcoming himself. “I focus on myself, not my competitors,” he said.
Dinov made history again at the 2024 Aceh–North Sumatra National Games (PON) as the youngest equestrian gold medalist, competing in the 110 cm class.
Despite facing major logistical issues—his horse arrived late and had to travel overland, leaving him with very little time to train on-site—Dinov prevailed.
“That only made me more determined to prove myself. And Alhamdulillah, I got the gold,” he said proudly.
Behind the medals lie stories of pain and perseverance.
During one training session, Dinov and his horse fell during a jump. The crash broke his right arm in two.
Yet instead of succumbing to fear, Dinov longed to ride again.
“I was out for nearly a month. But as soon as I healed, I got right back on the horse,” he recalled.
Dinov’s eyes are now set on the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal.
But first, he must conquer the 2025 Asian Youth Olympic Qualifiers in Bahrain, scheduled for October next year. A gold medal there will secure his ticket to the global stage.
To prepare, Dinov will undergo intensive training in Europe, aiming to deepen his understanding of his future equine partners.
“My dream is to compete in the 2026 Youth Olympics. Right now, I’m focused on the 2025 Asian Youth Games—and I’m going for gold,” he stated.
And what about nerves?
“I don’t know why, but I never feel nervous—whether it’s a national or international event,” Dinov said casually.
Now in his third year of junior high school, Dinov is more than just a phenomenon—he’s a symbol of Indonesia’s equestrian future.
He proves that age is just a number and passion knows no limits.
From Pulomas to Dakar, from clearing 110 cm obstacles to chasing Olympic dreams, Dinov is galloping forward—with a spirit as bold as his ambition.
And who knows—one day, his name might stand alongside the world’s equestrian greats. But his story begins here, in Indonesia, with a boy whose heart is as vast as his dreams.
