Nine Dragon: Calm in the Stable, Fierce on the Track, Always Comes from Behind!

SARGA.CO – Get ready for a major showdown on the 2,200-meter track! In this year’s most prestigious event, Star of Stars 2025, one name is stealing the spotlight among horse racing fans: Nine Dragon, a chestnut stallion known for being calm in the stable but ferocious on the track.

Once known as Leondias, he has now transformed into Nine Dragon — a symbol of strength, composure, and precision that only emerges when it’s time to compete. Representing Jakarta, this horse belongs to Raihanah Bagus of Red Stone Stable, trained by Steven Joseph, and ridden by seasoned jockey Achmad Saefudin.

Nine Dragon comes with an impressive record: 1st Place – 2,000m Open Class (IHR Cup 2025) and 1st Place – 4-Year-Old Class A/B – 2,000m (IHR Indonesia Derby 2025).

These back-to-back victories prove that Nine Dragon is no ordinary horse. He’s a genuine threat in mid- to long-distance races and is ready to make waves in Star of Stars 2025, the most prestigious event on the PORDASI National Championship Series II calendar.

According to his trainer, Steven, Nine Dragon is a classic coming-from-behind runner — he doesn’t rush at the start but saves his energy for a powerful finish.

“He’s a bit slow at the beginning, but that’s part of his strategy. Once he nears the finish line, he surges forward with full force,” Steven explained.

Interestingly, outside the track, Nine Dragon acts more like a “lazy horse.”

“He’s reluctant when walking from the stable to the track during training. But once he’s on the track, he transforms — focused, full of energy, and ready to chase down anyone ahead of him,” said Steven.

In the Star of Stars 2,200-meter race, Nine Dragon will face fierce competitors from across the country. Here’s the lineup:

Queen Divona (West Java) – Gate 2
Nine Dragon (Jakarta) – Gate 1
Kashmir Pararaja (East Nusa Tenggara) – Gate 3
Triple SS (Central Java) – Gate 4
Prince Patriot (West Java) – Gate 5

The one to watch out for is Queen Divona, the defending champion from Star of Stars 2024. Still, the Red Stone Stable team remains unfazed.

“Nine Dragon is in top condition. The opponents are strong, but we didn’t come here to lose. Pray that we can spring a surprise,” Steven said confidently.

With his unpredictable racing style, consistent stamina, and explosive speed in crucial moments, Nine Dragon is ready to rise as a new legend in Indonesia’s national horse racing scene.
