SARGA.CO – Get ready for the most anticipated speed battle of the year! In the 59th PORDASI National Horse Racing Championship (IHR) Series II, all eyes are on one name: Dominator, the chestnut stallion poised to shake up the 1,300-meter sprint track at Sultan Agung Racecourse, Bantul, Yogyakarta, on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
Once known as King Talago, this racehorse from Payakumbuh, West Sumatra, was often called “the buffalo” for his calm demeanor outside the track. But once he’s in the starting gate, he transforms into a relentless sprint monster.
Dominator is the offspring of Dubai’s Choice and Sibugo Taeh — a strong bloodline — standing 160.9 cm tall, an ideal build for a mid-distance sprinter. Now, he represents Ciello Stable, owned by Djatmiko Adi Nugroho, trained by young prodigy Ardhi Punta Wijaya, and ridden by jockey Esra Tamunu.
His record speaks volumes:
1st Place – Open Sprint Class A (1,300 m) – Indonesia Derby 2025
Gold Medal – Sprint Class – PON Aceh 2024, representing Jakarta.
Dominator’s racing style is one of a kind — calm in the stable, ferocious on the track.
“Dominator is a front-runner, but strangely, he’s super calm, not aggressive at all. Once the race starts, though, he goes wild — he’s a beast!” said Ardhi in an interview with SARGA.CO.
His strategy is to take the lead early — not with an explosive start, but by building momentum gradually, controlling the pace in the middle, and dominating toward the finish. Competitors often struggle to catch up once he’s in rhythm.
In the upcoming PORDASI Series II Nationals, Dominator will compete in the Super Sprint 1,300-meter class. The draw has placed him in Gate 2, a sweet spot for a front-runner.

Ardhi admitted that Princess Gavi and Dewa United will be the toughest rivals this time, both boasting equally impressive records and stamina. Still, the young trainer remains confident.
“Dominator is in top condition. We’ve prepared him for this well in advance. We’re confident he can win,” Ardhi added.
