SARGA.CO – The horse-racing track is nothing new to Achmad Saefudin. From a young age, the dust of the arena and the thunder of hooves have been part of his everyday life. He grew up in an environment deeply intertwined with the world of horse racing.
More than just skilled at guiding a horse to run at its full potential, Achmad Saefudin also inherited a champion’s bloodline from his father, A. Suhara, the legendary jockey who won the Indonesian Triple Crown in 2002.
From the age of 11, Achmad was already familiar with stable life. He learned how to care for horses, wait patiently, and understand their individual characters—an essential foundation that later shaped his instincts as a jockey. His interest in horse racing was not a coincidence, but a calling that grew from the example set by his father.
Following in A. Suhara’s footsteps, Achmad chose to walk the same path, becoming a professional horse-racing jockey.
Achmad’s career was not always smooth. In 2013–2014, the Bandung-born jockey, born on March 23, 1990, stepped away from the track.
It was not due to injury. Achmad Saefudin was forced to distance himself from racing because of a crisis of self-confidence—a phase that is rarely visible, yet often experienced by athletes at the highest level.
That hiatus became a period of reflection. He learned to understand pressure, expectations, and the meaning of rising again after failure.
Achmad Saefudin’s comeback came at the 2016 National Sports Week (PON). Returning to the arena with a renewed mindset, he made it clear that his journey was far from over.
From that moment on, Achmad’s confidence returned in full. He did not simply come back—he returned as a more mature and composed version of himself.
After PON 2016, Achmad continued to record achievements in various national championships. The peak came at Star of Stars 2025, when he guided Naga Sembilan, owned by Red Stone Stable, to a prestigious victory.
In every race, Achmad is known for his calm riding style and his ability to read the rhythm of competition. His strategy is often simple yet effective—waiting for the perfect moment before unleashing the decisive acceleration.
Despite carrying his father’s famous name, Achmad Saefudin chose to build his own reputation. He honors the Triple Crown legacy, but walks his own path through hard work, perseverance, and lessons learned from failure.
On the racing track, Achmad is not merely the son of a legend. He is a jockey who has proven himself—that while champion blood may be inherited, greatness must still be earned.
