SARGA.CO—Jateng Derby 2025 officially kicked off 10 horse racing championships to be held this year in the “The Race of Rising Stars” series with great fanfare.
The event held on February 16, 2025, at the Tegalwaton Horse Racing Arena, Semarang Regency, successfully attracted 15.000 visitors and more than 79.000 viewers through live streaming on YouTube SARGA.CO.
162 racehorses from various regions—Jakarta, Central Java, West Java, East Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi—competed in 18 race classes divided into three main divisions. 60 top jockeys participated, delivering fierce competition throughout the championship.
The total prize pool reached IDR 382 million, demonstrating the organizers' commitment to supporting the development of horse racing in Indonesia. Moreover, this competition served as an essential moment for jockeys and horse owners to showcase their best performances at the start of 2025.
Source: SARGA.CO For the first time in Indonesian horse racing history, PORDASI and SARGA.CO held a special jockey appreciation ceremony. Aryo Djojohadikusumo, Chairman of PP PORDASI 2024-2028, emphasized in a press conference that 2025 marks a historic milestone for PORDASI in advancing the sport.
"Alhamdulillah, the enthusiasm is extraordinary. This is the first time in PORDASI history that we give all jockeys special recognition. We want to give them names and appreciation for their dedication to the sport of horse racing," Aryo stated.
SARGA.CO also supported this recognition by awarding certificates and souvenirs to the jockeys. "I am happy to be part of SARGA; it’s vibrant, supportive, and protects the jockeys. Great! Keep moving forward; never back down for SARGA!" said Sutrisna Abadi, one of the honored jockeys.
"Today is fantastic. We hope future events for jockeys will be even grander. SARGA.CO, you’re awesome! Keep it up!" added Marcel Singal, another jockey receiving the award.
Kevin Jonathan, Vice President of Marketing & Operations at SARGA.CO, explained that this recognition will boost jockeys' motivation throughout 2025.
"We see great potential here. Jockeys are key players in horse racing, so we want to keep their spirits high throughout the year with PORDASI's 2025 campaign: ‘The Race of Rising Stars,’” Kevin explained.
Beyond the prestigious competition, Jateng Derby 2025 also provided space for local businesses (UMKM) to showcase their products. Their presence highlighted that horse racing events are not just about sports but also contribute to the local economy.
As the opening event of 10 horse racing championships in 2025, Jateng Derby once again proved its status as one of Indonesia's most prestigious horse racing events.
With strong participation from racehorses and jockeys and overwhelming audience support, this championship reinforced the tradition of horse racing as a growing sport in the country.
SARGA.CO and PORDASI have also designed innovative strategies to develop horse racing further. Kevin Jonathan Van Houten revealed that PORDASI will track points for jockeys, groomers, trainers, horses, and stables, which will later be optimized in SARGA.CO’s grand strategy towards the end of the year.
"We’re keeping the concept under wraps for now, but rest assured, something new, exciting, and groundbreaking is on the way," Kevin hinted.
With enhanced facilities, a more comfortable spectator experience, and significant strategies laid out by SARGA.CO and PORDASI, Indonesia’s horse racing industry is set to reach new heights. Horse racing enthusiasts across the country are already highly anticipating the next championship.
