SARGA.CO – West Java is gearing up to welcome one of this year’s most prestigious horse-racing events. As part of the 2025 Racing Events Calendar and in preparation for the 2026 West Java Provincial Sports Week (PORPROV) XV, the West Java Provincial Board of Pordasi has officially confirmed the staging of the “Gubernur Cup 2025” Horse Racing Championship.
This event is not only filled with prestige but also serves as the official qualifying round for PORPROV in the horse-racing discipline.
The championship will take place on Sunday, 13 November 2025, at the Legok Jawa Racecourse, Cimerak, Pangandaran—one of the finest racing tracks in southern West Java. Pangandaran’s selection as host proves that this coastal region is increasingly recognized as a growing center for equestrian sports in Pasundan.
Two Major Categories, Dozens of Classes, One Ambition
The Gubernur Cup 2025 features two main categories ready to heat the competition: PORPROV XV West Java 2026 Qualifying Round and Additional Races.
Dozens of classes will be contested, giving horses and athletes from various regions the chance to showcase their capabilities. For regencies and cities across West Java, this is a crucial stage to assess strength, evaluate performance, and push limits ahead of next year’s PORPROV.
The most anticipated category is the PORPROV qualifying classes, where results will determine who earns the right to advance to West Java’s biggest sporting event. The classes contested include:
The A/B Open Class is expected to be the main attraction—an elite, high-prestige class that often delivers fierce duels between the top horses in West Java.
Additional Races: A Stage for Rising Stars
Equally exciting, the committee is also opening additional races. This is where young or non-qualifying horses get the chance to showcase their potential and serve as a testing ground for trainers and owners. Classes include:
These additional categories are expected to become an ideal development arena for the world’s future race champions.
The West Java Provincial Board of Pordasi is optimistic that the Gubernur Cup 2025 will be competitive, festive, and of high quality. Strong support from local government and the enthusiasm of Pangandaran’s community are believed to be key driving forces behind the event’s success.
More than just a battle for prestige and PORPROV tickets, the Gubernur Cup 2025 is hoped to strengthen inter-club relationships, support athlete regeneration, and elevate Pangandaran’s status as a capable host for large-scale sporting events.
With preparations well underway, the Legok Jawa track is simply waiting for the thunder of hooves from future champions.
Who will secure their place in PORPROV XV? Let’s witness it together.
