SARGA.CO – Concluding the 2025 season of Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) “The Race of Rising Stars”, SARGA.CO is set to present the IHR Piala Raja Hamengku Buwono (HB) X 2025 at the Sultan Agung Horse Racing Track, Yogyakarta, on Sunday, November 9, 2025. This year’s event embraces a sportainment concept that unites historical tradition with modern culture.
The championship will feature 120 horses from 12 regions across Indonesia, competing in 18 races for a total prize pool of Rp1 billion.
“With Rp1 billion in total prizes and a highly prestigious royal trophy at stake, the IHR Piala Raja HB X 2025 will not only deliver exciting competition among champion horses but also showcase a fusion of historical and modern cultural elements—reflecting horse racing as one of the world’s most distinguished sportainment events,” said Aseanto Oudang, CEO & Co-Founder of SARGA.CO.
Top contenders such as Naga Sembilan from Jakarta — the 2024 Piala Raja champion and Star of Stars National Championship II 2025 winner — and Princess Gavi from West Java, who claimed second place in the Indonesia Derby 2025 and won the Super Sprint National Championship II 2025, will face off in the most prestigious race: The Open Class (2,000 meters), offering Rp200 million and the Piala Raja HB X trophy.
Other notable horses include War Kudeta (West Java), Dominator, and Dewa United (Jakarta), who will battle it out in the Open Sprint Class (1,300 meters) for Rp100 million in prizes.
Meanwhile, Tokugawa Eclipse (Central Java), Monochrome and Suntora Nagari (North Sulawesi), and Cassius Warrior (East Java) will compete in the 3-Year-Old Derby Division I (1,400 meters), with Rp110 million in total prizes.
The Royal Cup Horse Race has deep historical roots dating back to the era of Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX, father of the current Sultan HB X. The Piala Raja HB X 2025 marks the 15th edition since the event was first held in 2009.
This year, the opening ceremony will revive this royal tradition with a ceremonial procession of the Bergada (royal guards) carrying the King’s Trophy, symbolizing the event’s historical continuity.
added Aseanto Oudang.
Blending tradition with modern culture, IHR Piala Raja HB X 2025 will also feature a special collaboration with Uma Musume Indonesia—a fan community inspired by the Japanese multimedia franchise Uma Musume: Pretty Derby, which combines horse racing with idol-style anime characters based on legendary racehorses.
As part of this collaboration, the community will host a cosplay (cos) race, where participants dressed as Uma Musume characters will race on the horse track. The Uma Musume Cos Race will appear as Races 19 and 20 in the event lineup.
“We hope this collaboration sparks greater interest and enthusiasm for horse racing in Indonesia, especially among the younger generation,” said Kevin Jonathan, VP of Marketing & Operations of SARGA.CO.
"The enthusiasm isn't just from Uma Musume players, it's also spreading to other young people," Kevin hopes.
To further engage young audiences, SARGA.CO will also hold the Sarga Festival as part of the IHR Piala Raja HB X 2025 weekend. The music festival takes place on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the same venue.
added Kevin.
