SARGA.CO – A new name—one that hasn’t even been officially chosen yet—is preparing to enter the grand stage of Indonesian horse racing. This young horse is the full sibling of Wonder Land, the jragem mare who twice became runner-up in the 2025 Triple Crown series and one of King Argentin’s strongest rivals. Now, it’s the younger sibling’s turn to set foot on the track for the very first time.
The young horse will make its debut in the opening class of Sawahlunto Derby 2025, held at the Kandi Horse Racing Arena in Sawahlunto, West Sumatra, on Sunday, December 7, 2025.
“Plan is to run for the first time in Sawahlunto,” said Dedi Novaldi, owner of Wonder Land and also the owner of the younger sibling, in a conversation with SARGA News.
Interestingly, the young horse doesn’t yet have an official name.
“In the next four days we’ll give it a name, because next week is already the drawing for Sawahlunto Derby 2025. Just wait,” Dedi explained.
Before this major debut, Wonder Land’s sibling had already been “introduced” to the competitive atmosphere when brought to the Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) Cup II in Kubu Gadang, Payakumbuh, on September 28, 2025. It didn’t compete then, but that first opportunity to breathe the air of a racetrack was considered an important moment—to strengthen its mentality and familiarize it with the environment.
Coming from the same family line, the racing community naturally holds high expectations.
Wonder Land, the older sister, has been one of the most dazzling mares in Indonesia in recent years. Her explosive performances, strong stamina, and consistency made her name known across various arenas. She was even the strongest challenger to King Argentin during the 2025 Triple Crown campaign.
With two runner-up finishes in the first and second Triple Crown series, Wonder Land proved she could stand among the nation’s elite.
Now, Wonder Land has retired from the track and entered a new chapter as a broodmare, having been paired with stallion Da Vinci Eclipse in early November.
Every young racehorse begins its career carrying a big question: what can it show? But for Wonder Land’s sibling, that question multiplies. It carries the family name. It carries expectations. It carries curiosity.
Sawahlunto Derby 2025 will be the first stage to see whether it carries the same spark as Wonder Land—or perhaps something entirely different and even greater.
And in four days, we’ll finally know its name. In a few weeks, we’ll see its first steps. After that? The track will decide.
