SARGA.CO – The sound of thundering hooves and roaring cheers filled the air at the Jabar Classic 2025 Equestrian Championship – Governor of West Java Cup, which this year also served as the first qualifying round for the 2026 West Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov Jabar).
Held at The Hub, Jatisampurna, Bekasi City, the event brought together young equestrian athletes from four regions across West Java, competing in the Dressage and Show Jumping disciplines.
The four participating regions — Majalengka Regency, Bogor Regency, Bandung City, and Bogor City — sent their best young riders to fight for qualification spots at Porprov Jabar 2026, which is scheduled for November 2026.
“The qualifying rounds for Porprov Jabar 2026 have officially begun, and this first stage is joined by four regencies/cities, mostly featuring riders under 18 years old,” said Jejen Rusyana Diyan, Secretary General of the West Java Pordasi Provincial Board, as quoted from Pordasi.id on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
According to Jejen, Jabar Classic 2025 marks the first series in the qualification phase, with one or two more series to follow, so that more athletes have the chance to qualify.
He emphasized that the qualification round is open, allowing both new participants and those wishing to improve their previous results to compete again.
“Every athlete aiming to compete at Porprov must take part in at least one official qualifying round. Those who haven’t qualified yet will have another chance in the next series,” Jejen explained.
For Dressage and Show Jumping, The Hub has been designated as the main venue for both qualification and Porprov events. Meanwhile, the Endurance discipline will hold its qualification in West Bandung Regency in December 2025, with the Porprov final scheduled to take place in Bekasi Regency.
In total, more than 250 horses and nearly 900 entries took part in Jabar Classic 2025, showcasing the strong enthusiasm of West Java’s equestrian community.
The event also saw the rise of new young stars. In the Dressage Preliminary U18 class, Nathanael Menayang with his horse Diamond Rubina (D Riders) delivered an impressive performance to claim the West Java Governor’s Cup. RR. Tania Budi Winata with Queen (Araya–Emporium Horse Club) finished second, followed by Keyza Syallanisa Sofryano (HAS Equestrian) in third place.
In the Show Jumping 95–105 cm U18 class, the competition was intense until the final round. Amirul Ghassan Pribadi on Tectonic (RK Stable) emerged victorious, taking home the 2025 West Java Governor’s Cup, ahead of Teuku Muhammad Nur Fahri with Make It Possible (Aragon Equestrian Sport) and Achmad Fahri with Quaifande Nordwatering (Istana Stable Majalengka) in second and third place, respectively.
More than just a competition, Jabar Classic 2025 serves as a foundation for nurturing West Java’s young equestrian talent ahead of the province’s biggest sports event next year.
With the impressive potential shown by these young riders, Pordasi West Java is confident that equestrian sports will once again be one of the most competitive disciplines at Porprov 2026.
“We’ve seen incredible spirit and enthusiasm from all participants — a clear sign that athlete regeneration in West Java’s equestrian scene is on the right track,” Jejen concluded.
