SARGA.CO – The Nusantara Polo Club (NPC) field in Cibinong, Bogor, was filled with competitive tension on Saturday, November 15, 2025, as Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Erick Thohir and Chairman of PP PORDASI Aryo PS Djojohadikusumo attended the friendly match between the Indonesian National Polo Team and South Korea.
The event, titled the “2025 International Friendly Match,” served as an important warm-up session ahead of Indonesia’s departure for the 2025 Thailand SEA Games, which will take place on December 4–20.
During his visit, Erick Thohir said this was his first time watching a polo match in person. He appeared enthusiastic and impressed by the difficulty level of the equestrian sport, which is rarely highlighted by the public.
“This is my first time watching a polo match and learning how the sport works. It turns out that polo has a very high level of difficulty,” Erick said, as quoted from Pordasi.id.
The match was intense from the first chukka. Both teams traded attacks and showcased their skill in controlling the horses while executing strategic plays.
Led by team captain Novel Alva Momongan, the Indonesian National Polo Team played with confidence and sealed the game with an 8–5 victory, making this a valuable momentum builder ahead of their official matches in the SEA Games.
Chairman of PP PORDASI, Aryo PS Djojohadikusumo, expressed deep appreciation to the Minister for his support. According to him, Erick Thohir’s presence greatly boosted the confidence of Indonesia’s polo athletes as they count down the days to their real competition.
Aryo emphasized.
