SARGA.CO – The name “Dominator” is not just a nickname. The chestnut stallion owned by Ciello Stable (Jakarta) put on a dominant display from start to finish, securing the championship in Race 5 of the JHL Group Cup, Class A Open Sprint 1,300 meters, at the IHR–Indonesia Derby 2025, Sultan Agung racecourse, Bantul, Yogyakarta, on July 27.
The offspring of Dubai’s Choice x Sibugo Taeh impressed from the start, breaking from gate 8. With explosive speed, Dominator immediately surged to the front, leaving his rivals behind. Dewa United, a strong mare from Dewa United Stable (Jakarta), tried to keep close from the inside through gate 1, followed by Azarya Eclipse from Eclipse Stable, Central Java, shadowing in third place.
The challenge didn’t stop there. About 800 meters from the finish line, a threat came from the outside: Lae Chintya (Jakarta), who tried to push into the lead. But the race leader stood firm. Dominator responded to the pressure with an aggressive maneuver, increasing the tempo and pulling away by a horse length entering the final 400 meters.
Behind him, the battle for second place was intense. Azarya Eclipse briefly held the runner-up spot but couldn’t withstand the consistent pace of Dewa United, the offspring of Pure Theater x Torinaria, who overtook just before the finish line. Azarya Eclipse had to settle for third place.
Race 5 – JHL Group Cup Results:
1st: Dominator a.k.a. King Talago – Ciello Stable (Jakarta)
2nd: Dewa United a.k.a. Sunlight Nagari – Dewa United Stable (Jakarta)
3rd: Azarya Eclipse – Eclipse Stable (Central Java)
This victory cements Dominator’s status as an elite sprint racehorse. It also sends a serious warning to his rivals in the Class A 1,300-meter Open Sprint division.
