SARGA.CO – Enthusiasm and full support were expressed by Pangandaran Regent Citra Pitriyami for the prestigious Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) – Merdeka Cup 2025, set to take place at the Legok Jawa Racecourse, Cimerak, on Sunday, August 24, 2025.
During an audience with the SARGA.CO team—national horse racing promoters—at the Pangandaran Regent’s office on Friday, August 22, 2025, Citra conveyed her gratitude for choosing Pangandaran as host for one of the most prestigious horse racing championships in Indonesia.
“This is a great event, and tomorrow, Sunday, will be Pangandaran’s moment to shine. We will give our full support for this event,” said Citra with enthusiasm.
Not only providing symbolic support, Citra emphasized that the regional government will actively encourage the public to liven up the IHR–Merdeka Cup 2025, held at one of the world’s most exotic racecourses—right on Madasari Beach, facing directly toward the Indian Ocean.
“The local government will spread the word. I will also invite all civil servants to come and watch the horse races at one of the most beautiful tracks in the world, right on the beach,” she added.
The Regent’s support reaffirms Pangandaran’s commitment to advancing sport tourism as a key attraction of the region. The IHR–Merdeka Cup 2025 is not just a sporting competition, but also a tourism showcase expected to draw thousands of spectators and visitors to Cimerak and its surroundings.
The Legok Jawa Racecourse has gained attention for its unique natural setting. It is said to be one of only two horse racing tracks in the world located directly on the shoreline, making it a new icon for both Indonesian tourism and sports.
The IHR–Merdeka Cup 2025 will feature 86 racehorses from 7 provinces, competing across 16 classes for a total prize pool of Rp425 million. The event is also part of the championship series “The Race of Rising Stars,” organized by SARGA.CO in collaboration with PP PORDASI.
