SARGA.CO – A historic moment unfolded on September 6, 2025, at the Yonkavkud I Sembrani Headquarters. Aryo PS Djojohadikusumo, Chairman of PP Pordasi, was officially awarded the title of Honorary Cavalry Member of the Indonesian Army (TNI AD). This title is more than a symbol; it represents both respect and a strong bond between the military and Indonesia’s equestrian sports community.
The solemn yet meaningful ceremony was led by Brigadier General TNI Rayen Obersyl, Deputy Commander of the Cavalry Center (Pussenkav). During the event, Aryo undertook traditional cavalry challenges, including driving tactical vehicles (Rantis), horseback riding, and performing sword strikes from horseback, before receiving the Cavalry brevet and Black Beret—all while mounted, in the presence of senior Pussenkav officials and PP Pordasi members.
"This is an extraordinary honor, not just for me personally, but for PP Pordasi as well. We are committed to helping develop Indonesian Cavalry into a world-class force," Aryo said passionately, met with enthusiastic applause from attendees.
The title was not merely ceremonial. In a speech read by the Deputy Commander of Pussenkav, Major General TNI Eko Susetyo, the Cavalry Commander emphasized that the bond between the Cavalry and PP Pordasi has long been strong, especially in developing equestrian sports in Indonesia.
"The Cavalry and PP Pordasi are strategic partners. Today confirms that this synergy not only preserves tradition but also elevates Indonesian equestrian achievements to the global stage," said Brig. Gen. Rayen Obersyl.
Beyond receiving the honor, Aryo handed over Cross-Country Eventing obstacle equipment as part of the ongoing collaboration between PP Pordasi and Pussenkav, formalized on July 9. This equipment is intended to enhance the skills of Cavalry athletes in Eventing disciplines.
During the event, Aryo also officially reviewed and sent off the Indonesian contingent for the Horseback Archery (HBA) IHAA World Championships 2025 in Tennessee, USA, scheduled for later this month.
"We hope that thorough preparation, including mental and discipline training, will bring pride to our nation. Cavalry athletes consistently demonstrate exceptional skills in Eventing and HBA," Aryo remarked.
The officially dispatched Indonesian HBA contingent includes Deri Asta (Team Leader), Ali Fathi Assegaff (Team Manager), Bandiono (Coach), Azral Mardin (Athlete), Kaisar Akhtar Firdauz (Athlete), and Omar El Farooq Putra Alleut (Athlete). "Raise the Red and White, for the honor and dignity of Indonesia in the eyes of the world," Aryo urged the HBA contingent.
