SARGA.CO—Mc Queen, a local racehorse from Aceh, made a huge splash at Indonesia's Horse Racing (IHR): Merdeka Cup 2025. The small-statured horse proved to be the fastest by winning the main podium in the 1,000-meter Class J, defeating its rivals on the track.
Competing in Class J, which is specifically for horses 124.1 cm to 127 cm tall, Mc Queen became an authentic representative of a local Acehnese horse. Born to native parents from its birthplace, it carried the strong identity of Van Doeloer Stable, based in West Java.
With saddle number 1 and controlled by jockey M. Ikbal, Mc Queen took his place at the starting line in gate 4.
The race began with Raden Askara in the lead, while Mc Queen closely followed in second place. However, within just the first 400 meters, this small horse showed its speed.
Mc Queen overtook Raden Askara and took the lead. Moving nimbly on the inside lane, it handled the final turn perfectly and began to leave its four rivals behind.
The drama was unavoidable in the last 100 meters, when Ajeng Saketi attempted to catch up at full speed. However, Mc Queen firmly maintained its advantage until it reached the finish line.
This victory placed it in first, followed by Ajeng Saketi from Graha Alam Stable in second, and King DZ, who completed the podium in third place.
Mc Queen's achievement in Class J is not only an important record for Van Doeloer Stable but also clear proof that local Acehnese horses have great potential to compete at a national level.
Its speed and agility amazed horse racing fans. Its existence even attracted the attention of the Uma Musume game fan community, who are familiar with a character of the same name, Mejiro Mc Queen.
That character is adapted from a real Japanese racehorse known as a slow-developing stallion that later shone when it won the Kikuka Sho in the autumn of its third year.
At the IHR: Merdeka Cup 2025, the Mc Queen from Aceh made a name for himself as a new star. The victory proved that the name “Mc Queen” is always synonymous with toughness on the track, and it also proved that local racehorses have potential that should be taken into account.
