SARGA.CO—Falling In Love stole the spotlight after her iconic debut on the national racing track, where she still secured an impressive victory despite experiencing a late start. The racehorse from Maju Jaya Stable also has several unique facts that are rarely known behind the scenes. Here is the full breakdown.
Making her first appearance at Indonesia’s Horse Racing: Piala Raja Hamengku Buwono X 2025, Falling In Love immediately caught the attention of racing enthusiasts with her stunning performance.
This red-colored filly is the progeny of Minahasa Eclipse and Sri Jaya. The pure Thoroughbred lineage from her sire and G4 bloodline from her dam form an ideal combination that strengthens her capabilities on the track.
In terms of physique, Falling In Love stands at 134 centimeters tall. According to PP. PORDASI regulations, she is classified in Class H, a category determined by height, designated for top-performing horses standing between 130.1 and 134 centimeters.
Falling In Love started the race from gate seven. Despite losing momentum due to drifting shortly after the break, she managed to turn the situation around and transform it into a powerful push toward an iconic victory.
With a well-calculated strategy from her jockey, Agung Saidil Adha, Falling In Love began accelerating as she entered the middle phase of the race.
For a young horse, her burst of speed appeared remarkably strong. One by one, she overtook the runners in the second row while narrowing the gap with her rivals.
In the final 200 meters, Falling In Love unleashed her full speed and successfully passed Opera O, who had been leading the race. Her strides remained steady and powerful, creating an increasingly wide gap that left her competitors unable to catch up.
Together with her jockey, she secured the top spot on the podium in Class H – 1,000 meters. This victory marked a sweet beginning to her journey on the national racing stage.
Behind her impressive debut, Falling In Love holds several unique facts that are not visible on the track, including:
Falling In Love was born as a twin. Unfortunately, her sibling passed away at the age of three months due to colic. This was confirmed by her trainer, Ardhi Wijaya, during a special interview with the SARGA.CO team.
“Falling In Love’s twin suffered from colic, a condition that eventually led to its death at three months old,” said Ardhi.
As additional information, colic in horses is a general term describing abdominal pain triggered by various issues, mainly affecting the digestive system.
According to the Veterinary Medical Centre, this condition can range from mild to life-threatening, from gas buildup to severe intestinal blockages. A horse’s sensitive digestive structure makes them highly prone to colic.
According to data from Wiley, the mortality rate caused by colic in horses reaches 31.2 percent. This condition can affect horses between 1 and 20 years old.
With such a high risk and a wide age range, colic firmly stands as one of the most serious threats to equine health.
Having a twin significantly affected her body size at birth. Compared to her sibling, Falling In Love was born much smaller.
“Because they were twins, one was small, and the other was large. Falling In Love’s twin was the larger one,” Ardhi explained.
This difference in size marked a meaningful part of her early development—one that contrasts her current growth into a young horse with remarkable performance on the track.
Behind her touching story with her twin, Falling In Love possesses a distinct advantage: she is intelligent and highly trainable. Ardhi recognized this quality from the very first time he handled her.
“Falling In Love is extremely obedient. She’s a smart horse and quickly picks up instructions,” said the trainer.
This was evident when she successfully coordinated with her jockey and captured her first podium finish, despite experiencing issues at the start.
Falling In Love’s intelligence and trainability play a significant role in her on-track performance. According to her trainer, the 2023-born filly is capable of adapting to various running styles depending on race demands.
She can perform as a frontrunner, taking immediate control at the start. She can also become a stalker, closely tailing the race leader in the hope of finding the perfect moment to strike.
When needed, Falling In Love can switch into a strong finisher—saving her energy for a late surge to overtake her rivals. This flexibility gives her a tactical and adaptive edge across different race scenarios.
Before competing on the national stage, Falling In Love required only three to four months of training. According to Ardhi, most horses typically need six to eight months to reach the same level of readiness.
This accelerated progression further highlights her intelligence in absorbing training and adapting to the pace of competition.
With a combination of intelligence, flexibility, and fighting spirit evident since her earliest days, Falling In Love has proven that she is more than just a young horse with exceptional potential.
More than that, the facts above show she is a rising star in national horse racing. Her impressive debut marks the beginning of a long journey eagerly anticipated by racing fans across Indonesia.
