According to Guinness World Records, Winning Brew is the fastest racehorse ever recorded. She is a Thoroughbred filly trained by Francis Vitale. She reached a top speed of 70.76 km/h (43.97 mph) over a quarter mile (402 meters) and completed the distance in just 20.57 seconds.

This achievement officially made her the fastest racehorse in history, holding the record for the highest speed ever measured by a racehorse.

This makes Brew a horse with the best and fastest lineage, winning the Penn National Race Course, Pennsylvania, United States, in 2008. 

Regarding speed and dominance, the name Secretariat cannot be ignored. The 1973 Triple Crown champion didn’t just win—he crushed his competition. Secretariat covered 2,400 meters in 2 minutes and 24 seconds in the legendary Belmont Stakes, with an average speed of 61.2 km/h.

To this day, that record still stands tall among the annals of American horse racing. Beyond speed, Secretariat was also known for his stamina and efficient running technique. 

Secretariat was born on March 29, 1970, at Meadow Stud in Doswell, Virginia. He was the third-generation descendant of Bold Ruler, the 1957 Preakness winner and one of the most outstanding sires of his time, and Somethingroyal, who only raced once but produced high-quality offspring.

According to Sports Century Biography titled “Secretariat Remains No. 1 Name in Racing,” Secretariat’s only loss as a two-year-old came by disqualification after bumping Stop the Music in the Champagne Stakes at Belmont.

According to the Kentucky Horse Park, Man o’ War is considered the most famous Thoroughbred ever. The park honors this legendary horse with a grand bronze statue and memorial at his burial site, located in a place of honor near the park's entrance.

He is buried beside War Admiral, his most famous son, a Triple Crown winner, and several other well-known sons and daughters.
