SARGA.CO – The juvenile horse class at Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) Piala Raja Hamengku Buwono X 2025 delivered a major surprise through a contender who had long flown under the radar: Mandoge. In Race IX, Class 3-Year-Old Juvenile Division II – 1,200 meters, the colt from Winning Stable rose from a string of lackluster performances and burst to victory with an extraordinary run.
In fact, in his last three races, Mandoge hadn’t even touched the top-three podium, finishing only in fifth place. Because of that, the public had their eyes on more established favorites like Inna Fatahna T.A and Royal Blaze. But that day, Mandoge overturned every prediction.
Competing for the PLN Cup worth Rp50 million, Race IX began at a blistering pace. Mandoge immediately pushed into the front pack alongside Inna Fatahna T.A and Sunset Nagari. The three ran shoulder to shoulder, leaving no space for any other horse to slip through.
However, the dynamics shifted when Luna Nova briefly took the lead, pressured by Inna Fatahna, who kept pushing hard from the inside rail. The battle grew even fiercer, and the spectators barely had time to catch their breath before the real shock unfolded.
From what seemed like an ordinary position, Mandoge suddenly exploded in the final 200 meters. As if fueled by an extra surge of power, the colt—sired by Belantara and out of Ambalat Winning—dramatically accelerated. He overtook his rivals one by one, opening up long, powerful strides that Inna Fatahna could no longer match.
His finishing kick was so strong that it cemented Mandoge as a true strong finisher, breaking the dominance of the favorites.
Drama in the Fight for the Podium
While Mandoge stormed ahead, the real battle unfolded for the third-place spot. Royal Blaze ultimately edged out Valeria A.J. after an intense duel, securing the podium for Amigo Stable.
With this monumental victory, Mandoge didn’t just claim a title—he proved that in racing, there is no such thing as a true “underdog.” Sometimes, the ones overlooked are the ones hiding the biggest surprises.
