SARGA.CO – The heat will be on in Race 10 of the Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) Cup II 2025 this Sunday, September 28, at the Kubu Gadang Racecourse in Payakumbuh, West Sumatra.
The 3-Year-Old Junior Division I – 1,200-Meter class is one of the most anticipated events, thanks to a lineup packed with lightning speed and future stars.
With a total purse of IDR 70 million, this race is more than just a test of raw speed—it’s also a mental battle, a showcase of jockey strategy, and a proving ground for rising young horses.

Four of these five—Historia Guti, Freya Queen, Volcanic, and Saga Serumpun—are known for explosive starts. They don’t wait; they attack the moment the gates fly open, setting the stage for a blisteringly fast, unforgiving 1,200-meter sprint.
Among the fields, Volcanic is stealing the spotlight.
This tall, dark filly from Pikaso Stable (Solok) is sired by Dubai’s Choice and Wing 99, bloodlines famed for power and acceleration.
Though still relatively new, Volcanic has already made waves by winning First-Time Starter Class C/D (2-Year-Old) at the 2025 Payakumbuh Governor’s Cup. However, she missed the podium at the 2025 Bukittinggi Wisata Derby.
Volcanic is a true front-runner—she bolts the instant the gate opens. Her former weakness? Mental toughness. She was known to ease off if overtaken, reluctant to fight back. Trainer Tuan Amris has been working to change that with focused drills on emotional balance and tactical adaptability.
On paper, Historia Guti (Bukittinggi), Saga Serumpun (Payakumbuh), and Freya Queen (West Java) carry more race experience and enter as favorites.
But that makes Volcanic the dangerous underdog. Starting from Gate 2 gives her a perfect launch position to seize the early lead. If she can hold her rhythm, she just might shock the field.
