SARGA.CO – The name Romantic Spartan once again echoed across the racetrack. The prized horse owned by Muhammad Ikhsan from Padang Panjang dominated the field with raw power and flawless control, claiming first place in Race 9, Class 4-Year-Old Open 1,600 Meters at the prestigious Governor’s Cup III – Alek Anak Nagari Pabasko 2025, held at Gelanggang Bancah Laweh, Padang Panjang, on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
With steady stamina and sharp acceleration, Romantic Spartan surged ahead of tough rival Jundu Batu Balang (Payakumbuh), who settled for second, followed by Dara Tilatang (Bukittinggi) in third.
This victory was no fluke. Just a month earlier, Romantic Spartan also claimed first place at the Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) Cup II 2025 in Kubu Gadang, Payakumbuh, winning the Class 4-Year-Old A/B 1,600 meters division.
Even at the IHR: Indonesia Derby 2025, Romantic Spartan proved his endurance by finishing third in the 3-Year-Old Derby Class (2,000 meters)—a strong showing at the national level, pushing King Argentin, the 2025 Triple Crown winner, to his limits.
Since 2024, Muhammad Ikhsan’s powerhouse horse has been known as a mid-distance specialist—a racer that’s nearly impossible to beat in the 1,500–1,700 meter range.
His rise began with victory in the Novice A/B Class at the Bukittinggi Mayor’s Cup (July 2024) and was capped by another win in the Sawahlunto Derby (December 2024) for the 3-Year-Old 1,500-meter category.
Entering 2025, Romantic Spartan only grew stronger and more seasoned. He captured the Payakumbuh Mayor’s Cup Derby (February 2025) in the Derby Division I 1,600 meters, then reinforced his dominance at the Bukittinggi Agam Tourism Derby (May 2025) by winning the Derby 1,700 meters class.
Now, with his latest triumph at the Governor’s Cup III Pabasko 2025, Romantic Spartan adds another jewel to his impressive crown of victories in West Sumatra’s horse racing circuit.
