Wahyu Wicaksono, who coaches Wonder Land, made headlines this week with a confident declaration: his stable is coming in strong to challenge King Argentine’s Triple Crown dream.
“We’ve even hired a legendary consultant from Djohar Manik—the 2014 Triple Crown winner. So don’t sleep too well, Coach Farooq,” he warned.
Wahyu also hinted that other horses under his watch—especially from DKI Jakarta—are being prepped as potential spoilers to disrupt King Argentine’s momentum.
Trainer Yose Rizal: “Strongest So Far, But Triple Crowns Are Never Easy”
Yose Rizal sees King Argentine as the more complete athlete in both stamina and consistency, especially over the 2,000-meter track at SSA Bantul.
“He’s ahead on paper, no doubt. But in racing, anything can happen. Triple Crowns are sacred for a reason—no matter how good the horse, it’s never guaranteed.”
Trainer Rudi Ratu: “King Argentine Has Proven Himself—Twice”
Having already defeated Wonder Land in the previous two Triple Crown legs, King Argentine has the psychological and historical edge, according to trainer Rudi Ratu.
“Unless something external disrupts him—like bad weather, injury, or a poor start—he’s still the strongest horse in this field.”
Trainer Ardhi Punta Wijaya: “Watch Out for Sydney All Star”
While still backing King Argentine as the frontrunner, Ardhi Punta Wijaya believes the field is more open than many expect.
“Wonder Land and Sydney All Star could cause an upset. But based on current data and training logs, King Argentine still leads the pack.”
