SARGA.CO – Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) Piala Raja Hamengku Buwono X 2025 doesn’t just promise thrilling races featuring the best horses from across the nation — it also brings something uniquely entertaining: a lineup of horses with creative and character-filled names.
From those inspired by legendary films to names with romantic or humorous twists, these horses will add color and personality to the competition at Sultan Agung Racecourse, Yogyakarta, on Sunday, November 9, 2025. Here are some of the standout names capturing attention this year:
Power Rangers – The Black Hero from the East
Representing East Java, Power Rangers is a black stallion owned by Cahaya Mulya Stable. His name instantly recalls the childhood superhero team, and just like his namesakes, Power Rangers is ready to bring action and energy to the track. He’ll race in Race I, Class I/J – 1,000 meters.
Falling in Love – The Romantic Red from Jakarta
This one sounds straight out of a love song. Falling in Love is a two-year-old red filly from Maju Jaya Stable, standing 134 cm tall and bred from Minahasa Eclipse x Sri Jaya. Representing DK Jakarta, she will compete in Race II, Class H – 1,000 meters. Will the audience truly “fall in love” watching her run?
Opera O – Elegant and Refined
From West Java comes Opera O, a chestnut filly bred from Mahameru Sumbar x Lokal Padang, owned by Van Doeloer Stable. Her sophisticated name pays homage to Japan’s legendary racehorse — and anime character — T.M. Opera O. She’ll also run in Race II, Class H – 1,000 meters.
Hiburan Anda (Your Entertainment) – The Name That Makes You Smile
If there were an award for the most entertaining name, Hiburan Anda (“Your Entertainment”) would win it. This light brown (gambir) stallion from JDL Stable represents East Java and stands 134 cm tall. Competing in Race II, Class H – 1,000 meters, his name seems to carry a playful message for the crowd: no matter who wins, he’s here to be your entertainment on the track.
Happy Asmara & Tarsan – The Local Duo from Yogyakarta
The host region, Yogyakarta, also presents two local crowd favorites: Happy Asmara and Tarsan.
Happy Asmara, a dark bay filly from Sima Raya Stable, exudes cheerful energy, much like the beloved Indonesian dangdut singer she’s named after.
Tarsan, a gray stallion from Mutiara Mahkota Stable, stands 133 cm tall and is ready to swing into action — reminiscent of the legendary jungle hero himself.
Both will race in Race II, Class H – 1,000 meters, proudly representing Yogyakarta in their home arena.
In the world of horse racing, names are never chosen randomly. Each one reflects the hopes, character, and personality envisioned by the owner — sometimes inspired by fiction, sometimes humorous or sentimental, and often carrying deep personal stories.
At the Piala Raja HB X 2025, names like Power Rangers, Falling in Love, Opera O, Hiburan Anda, Happy Asmara, and Tarsan show that horse racing is not only about speed, but also about creativity, culture, and emotional connection between owners, trainers, and spectators.
With 18 races and 120 horses from 12 regions, the IHR Piala Raja HB X 2025 promises not only fierce competition but also a colorful spectacle — blending tradition, culture, and modern sportainment in one of Indonesia’s most prestigious racing events.
