SARGA.CO – A spectacular drama unfolded in the main class of Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) Piala Raja Hamengku Buwono (HB) X 2025 when War Kudeta shattered the dominance of the favored horse Dominator, who had looked untouchable from the start.
Held at the Bantul Horse Racing Track, DI Yogyakarta, on Sunday, November 9, 2025, this 1,300-meter class competition for the Arsari Tambang Cup with a prize of Rp100 million brought together seven champion horses: Dominator, War Kudeta, Dewa United, Azarya Eclipse, King Nagura, Agatha Star, and Red Sea.
The bell rang, the gates opened, and Dominator — formerly known as King Talago — shot to the front with no hesitation. With a perfect start, he secured the lead, shadowed by Azarya Eclipse, while War Kudeta remained stuck in the second pack.
A few hundred meters passed, and it looked as though Dominator was about to repeat his previous overpowering performances. His stride was steady, his rhythm intact, seemingly unbothered by any threat. But danger slowly crept from behind: War Kudeta began closing in.
With precise instructions from jockey Jimmy Runtu, War Kudeta — the offspring of Dynamor Kid and Indah Sumbar — began increasing his speed. One crack of the whip was enough to ignite a burst of power that brought him right up to Dominator’s tail.
At the same time, Dominator started facing pressure from Dewa United, who surged into third place, adding tension to the race. Azarya Eclipse, who had been shadowing the leaders early on, appeared to run out of steam and dropped out of contention.
Entering the final turn, War Kudeta was already right behind Dominator. When the straight track opened, the true “coup” finally happened. With fresher acceleration and livelier strides, War Kudeta overtook Dominator, who began to lose power even as his jockey urged him on.
By a narrow margin of half a horse length, War Kudeta crossed the finish line first — marking one of the most character-rich victories of the year, a triumph “striking from behind,” built on strategy and composure.
