SARGA.CO – A surprise and a show of dominance unfolded at Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) Merdeka Cup 2025 when Putra Raja, the pride of Aragon Stable, conquered the 1,200-meter Class E race with a brilliant performance. Competing at the Legok Jawa Racecourse in Pangandaran, West Java, on Sunday, August 24, 2025, Putra Raja powered to victory and clinched the Arsari Tambang Cup, worth IDR 20 million.
The race, which brought together six strong contenders from different regions, turned out to be one of the most thrilling spectacles of the day. Among the top favorites, Lang Lang Jagad T.A from Tombo Ati Stable (Central Java) and his stablemate Liverpool T.A posed a serious threat, but in the end, Putra Raja proved he was the rightful champion.
As soon as the gates flew open, Liverpool T.A from gate 3 shot ahead to take the early lead, but Putra Raja, starting from gate 2, refused to let the gap widen. The two horses locked horns in a gripping duel that had the crowd on edge.
Trailing closely behind, Lang Lang Jagad T.A bided his time, watching carefully and waiting for the perfect moment to strike. The Central Java contender stayed within striking distance, ready to pounce at any opportunity.
The real drama came in the final turn. Liverpool T.A tried to break away and surge ahead, but Putra Raja responded with full power. In a decisive move, the Aragon Stable star accelerated, overtook his rival, and stormed to the finish line in commanding fashion.
The Stage Belongs to Putra Raja
This victory did more than add a trophy to Putra Raja’s name — it reinforced Aragon Stable’s rising reputation as a formidable force in Indonesia’s horse racing scene. What made the win more impressive was not only his speed, but also the composure and tactical execution that allowed him to dominate under pressure.
The result also served as a statement: West Java’s horses can hold their ground against rivals from traditional racing strongholds like Central Java.
Although not the premier event, the Class E – 1,200-meter race has always been known for its surprises and adrenaline-pumping finishes. The mid-distance format demands a flawless combination of speed, stamina, and strategy. No wonder it remains one of the most anticipated races at the IHR Merdeka Cup.
With Putra Raja’s victory, the race proved once again that future stars can emerge from anywhere — not just from elite classes, but also from ambitious contenders in the mid-tier races who are hungry for glory.
