SARGA.CO – The most prestigious class finally crowned a new champion. In the high-tension Race XIV, 3-Year-Old Derby Division I—the main event competing for the Le Minerale Cup with a total prize of Rp110 million—Monochrome delivered a brilliant performance as the winner at the Sultan Agung Racecourse, Bantul, Sunday, 9 November 2025.
The 1,400-meter race (two trips past the finish line) brought together seven of the best horses from five regions. But from the very start, the fiercest rivalry came from the North Sulawesi (Sulut) contingent, which fielded three of its strongest horses: Monochrome, Suntora Nagari, and Kenangan Sion.
As soon as the starting gate opened, the duel between the Sulut horses instantly became the center of attention. Suntora Nagari and Monochrome burst forward, leaving the rest of the pack behind. Only Tokugawa Eclipse (Central Java) was strong enough to maintain third position.
Entering the final 400 meters, the tension escalated. Suntora Nagari and Monochrome were running side by side, delivering a breathtaking duel before thousands of spectators in the Sultan Agung stands.
But the drama didn’t stop there. Jockey Fajar Walangitan, who rode Suntora Nagari, seemed to struggle to find room to drop the whip because his horse was positioned on the outer lane.
In contrast, Monochrome, running on the inner rail, had more space to move freely. Jockey Jones Paendong, with his composure and experience, capitalized on this strategic advantage to apply the whip at the perfect time. The impact was immediate.
In just a matter of seconds, Monochrome, the chestnut filly by sire De Lago King out of Myriadin Yr, began opening a clear lead. Suntora Nagari tried hard to chase, but momentum had already shifted to Monochrome and her jockey.
The crowd erupted as Monochrome crossed the finish line first, delivering a major victory for Miranda Stable.
