SARGA.CO – Thunderous cheers echoed across the Sultan Agung Racecourse as Kana Eclipse stormed ahead with unmatched power in Race V of the 59th Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) PORDASI National Championship Series II 2025, held on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
With explosive energy and flawless control from jockey Meikel Soleran, the colt from Eclipse Stable (Central Java) put on a fierce yet elegant performance, dominating the 1,200-meter race and claiming victory — without a single whip strike.
The 3-Year-Old Junior Division I race, competing for the Sarga Cup with a total prize of Rp30 million, was one of the most anticipated of the day. Six young horses took to the track, but from the very start, one name stood out above the rest — Kana Eclipse.
Before the race began, a late change in jockeys took place. Originally slated to be ridden by Hesky Paendong, Kana Eclipse was instead mounted by Meikel Soleran — a decision that turned out to be the key to victory.
This wasn’t just a substitution on paper. Meikel brought a sense of chemistry and calm that perfectly complemented Kana Eclipse’s potential.
At the start, Kana Eclipse broke cleanly and immediately took the lead, shadowed by Kimberly from Non Cindy Stable and Danantara, who tried to stay close. The three horses ran neck and neck, raising the intensity of the opening lap.
As the race reached the final 600 meters, the duel between Kana Eclipse and Kimberly grew even tighter. Kimberly attempted a daring move from the outside, but Kana Eclipse remained steady, strong, and perfectly responsive to his jockey’s cues.
What amazed the crowd was Meikel Soleran’s composure — he never once used the whip. Instead, with subtle hand control and body communication, he kept Kana Eclipse focused and balanced on the winning line.
While other jockeys were going all out in the last 200 meters, Kana Eclipse effortlessly widened the gap without any extra push — a rare and remarkable sight on a national racing stage.
Royal Blaze Surges from Behind
A surprise came from Royal Blaze, a black stallion from Amogo Stable (East Java). Initially lagging in sixth position, he unleashed an impressive late sprint to claim third place, proving his resilience and racing heart under pressure.
