SARGA.CO — The roar of the crowd at Sultan Agung Racetrack, Bantul, exploded on the afternoon of Sunday, October 19, 2025. That day, the Indonesia Horse Racing (IHR) National Championship Pordasi Series II 2025 delivered an extraordinary drama — a fierce battle for the title of Indonesia’s best sprinter horse.
Seven elite horses from five provinces lined up at the starting gate, competing for the Arsari Tambang Cup and a total prize of Rp70 million. But among the thunder of hooves and jockey shouts, one name ultimately echoed the loudest: Princess Gavi, the fierce mare from King Halim Stable, West Java.
When the starting gates flew open, Dominator d.h. King Talago shot forward like a bullet. Jockey Esra Tamuni confidently took the lead from gate two. Meanwhile, from gate one, Princess Gavi stumbled slightly after a brief bump at the start, losing momentum. In just seconds, the four-year-old mare fell to the very back of the pack.
To many spectators, Gavi’s chances seemed to vanish instantly. But atop the saddle, jockey Hanny Suoth knew the race was far from over.
said Hanny Suoth in an interview with SARGA News.
While Dominator led confidently up front, trailed by Satria Ardiaa and Dewa United, Gavi quietly regained her rhythm. Each stride became steadier, each breath more synchronized. On the 1,300-meter track, she wasn’t just running — she was studying her opponents.
As the finish line approached, with only 300 meters left, the wind seemed to shift. From the outer lane, Princess Gavi began overtaking one by one — first Lea Chintya, then Dewa United. Only one rival remained ahead: Dominator.
The crowd roared as the two leading horses entered the home stretch. Dominator was still ahead, but Gavi’s strides grew longer and stronger. Hanny Suoth leaned forward, signaling one last command:
“Now, Gavi!”
And as if she understood, Princess Gavi unleashed her final burst of speed. In the last few seconds, both horses raced neck and neck — their noses nearly aligned. The audience stood, shouting, breathless. Who crossed first?
A Heart-Stopping Victory
Minutes passed as the judges reviewed the photo finish. Tension filled the paddock until, finally, the announcement came:
Champion of Class A Super Sprint (1,300 meters): Princess Gavi — King Halim Stable, West Java.
The crowd erupted in joy. The once-trailing mare was now officially crowned Indonesia’s Sprint Queen of 2025. Dominator settled for second place, while Dewa United claimed third.
