Potret Cronos Eclipse: Tenang Dulu, Ngebut Kemudian

Portrait of Cronos Eclipse: Calm First, Sprint Later

SARGA.CO – The Sultan Agung Racecourse in Yogyakarta witnessed a brilliant performance by Cronos Eclipse, who seized victory in Race VIII, Class 3 Years & Above THB LN (1,400 meters) at the Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) PORDASI National Championship 59th Series II 2025, on Sunday, October 19, 2025.

Though only three horses competed, the race for the Sarga Cup, with a total prize of Rp20 million, turned into a fierce display of strategy and speed — and Cronos Eclipse emerged triumphant with a perfectly timed late surge.

Strong Start, Smarter Tactics

As the starting gates opened, Cronos Eclipse from Eclipse Stable (Central Java) immediately shot to the front. The four-year-old red stallion looked confident under jockey Hesky Paendong, while P. Galuh Banjar, a newcomer from South Kalimantan, closely tailed him.

Meanwhile, Highland Reel Jr from Janendra Stable attempted a different strategy — hugging the inside rail to find an early opening. But soon, the crowd erupted when P. Galuh Banjar, a young horse sired by Real Impact out of Rose of Pania, surged ahead to briefly take the lead. The rookie raced fearlessly against seasoned rivals.

Cronos Eclipse Sets the Tempo

While his two opponents battled for the lead, Cronos Eclipse chose patience over haste. He eased his pace mid-race, giving room for the others to exhaust themselves — conserving his power for the final assault.

It proved a masterstroke. Entering the last 200 meters, the track turned into a true duel. As the other jockeys began to use their whips, Hesky Paendong simply leaned forward — and Cronos Eclipse exploded.

A Lethal Final Burst

In seconds, Cronos Eclipse overtook Highland Reel Jr and pulled alongside P. Galuh Banjar. The tension peaked — two horses, stride for stride, hooves pounding in unison, the crowd roaring in anticipation.

But only one had the finishing fire. The colt by Inns of Court out of Taqneyya unleashed a devastating final burst, leaving both rivals behind by a clear margin as he crossed the finish line first.
