SARGA.CO – The gate draw results are in for the prestigious 3-Year-Olds Derby – 2,000 meters at the Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) Indonesia Derby 2025. With a prize pool of Rp300 million, the event features 12 of the best racehorses in the country, and all eyes are on King Argentine (West Java), the strong contender for Indonesia’s Triple Crown, who will start from gate 9.
King Argentine Faces Pressure from All Sides
Gate 9 is considered a strategically solid position for King Argentine. However, serious pressure looms as key rivals Romeo Berjaya (Jakarta) and Kashmir Pararaja (East Nusa Tenggara) are drawn right beside him in gates 10 and 11. This could lead to a tight battle right out of the gate.

King Argentine has already won the IHR Triple Crown Series 1 and Series 2. A win in the Indonesia Derby 2025 would make him the third horse in history to claim the Indonesian Triple Crown—joining Manik Trisula (2002) and Djohar Manik (2014).
But the path won’t be easy. Romantic Spartan and Wonderland are both known for their explosive finishing speed. If they break well at the start, they could very well shatter King Argentine’s Triple Crown dream.
