SARGA.CO – While the spotlight of the 59th PORDASI National Horse Racing Championship (IHR Kejurnas) Series II 2025 was on DKI Jakarta’s victory in claiming the President of the Republic of Indonesia’s Rotating Trophy, this year’s championship also featured thrilling duels among top jockeys who dominated the track at Sultan Agung Racecourse, Yogyakarta, on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
Three jockeys emerged as the brightest stars of the championship: Angel Manarisip, Hanny Suoth, and Meikel Soleran — each earning four podium finishes, making them the most decorated jockeys of the series.
It’s undeniable that a racehorse’s success on the track depends heavily on the skillful hands of its jockey. In IHR Kejurnas II 2025, this synergy was evident through the victories of elite horses such as Naga Sembilan (DKI Jakarta) in Class A Star of Stars 2,200M, Princess Gavi (West Java) in Class A Super Sprint 1,300M, and Flamboyan (East Java) in Class C 1,600M.
Behind these triumphs were the experienced jockeys who showcased their ability to control pace, read the rhythm of the race, and execute tactical decisions with precision — proving that every championship-winning horse runs best under the right rider.
Overall, DKI Jakarta emerged as the overall national champion with 85.5 points, thanks to its dominance in prestigious classes and the solid performances of its jockeys and horses. West Java closely followed in second place with 85.25 points, while Central Java secured third with 64 points.
A total of 152 horses from 12 regional contingents competed across 18 race classes, including 10 main point-contributing divisions. In terms of podium count, East Java led the standings with 13 podiums, followed by West Java (11), and DKI Jakarta and Central Java with 10 each.
“This IHR National Championship isn’t just about speed — it’s about discovering and nurturing new stars in Indonesia’s horse racing scene,”
said Aseanto Oudang, Co-Founder & CEO of SARGA.CO, the event’s promoter.
Jockeys like Angel, Hanny, and Meikel are proof that the new generation of Indonesian jockeys is thriving. They’ve shown that the nation has extraordinary talent ready to shine on the racing stage.
With a total prize pool of IDR 600 million, supported by Le Minerale, Arsari Tambang, JAPFA, and My Republic, the IHR Kejurnas II 2025 forms part of the 8th series in Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) 2025 calendar, titled “The Race of Rising Stars.”
One thing is clearer than ever: the future of Indonesian horse racing depends not only on the power of its horses but also on the quality and resilience of its jockeys. With young riders rising fast and veteran jockeys maintaining consistency, the national racing arena continues to tell stories of speed, strategy, and unyielding spirit.
