SARGA.CO – The Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR)–Merdeka Cup 2025 is set to deliver the hottest showdown of the year: the 3-Year-Old Prospective Derby Class – 1,400 meters, which will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Legok Jawa Horse Racing Track, Pangandaran, West Java.
Out of a total of 86 horses competing across 16 classes representing 7 provinces (West Java, East Java, Jakarta, Central Java, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and North Sulawesi), this class will be the main spotlight for stable owners, top trainers, jockeys, and horse racing fans nationwide, not only because of the grand prize of IDR 60 million, but also because this class often produces future national champions.
The horses competing here are all born in 2022 and officially entered the age of 3 as of August 1, 2025. This is their golden stage—where their performances begin to be directly measured in long-distance races.
No wonder this class is dubbed the “gladiator stage” on the road to the Triple Crown and the Indonesia Derby 2026. Whoever wins here will most likely continue to dominate next year’s major national races.

The IHR-Merdeka Cup 2025 is part of the “The Race of Rising Stars” series, initiated by SARGA.CO in collaboration with PP PORDASI, and held at the exotic seaside track of Legok Jawa, Pangandaran. With total prizes worth hundreds of millions of rupiah, this event marks a milestone on the national horse racing map.
