SARGA.CO – The tension peaked at the afternoon session of the Indonesia’s Horse Racing (IHR) Cup II 2025, in Race VII of the 3-Year-Old Debut Class A/B – 800 meters, competing for the Le Minerale Cup with a total prize of Rp20 million.
Although the race only featured three horses from Payakumbuh, it was packed with drama. Three names entered the track: Markoni from Serumpun Stable, Qutban from Kiki Buya Stable, and Black Tander from Deguci Stable. But only one stole the spotlight—Markoni, the red mare who snatched victory with sharp instincts and brilliant jockey strategy.
Mind games were already in play before the race kicked off. Deguci Stable made a surprise move by switching jockeys from Hendri to Rudi Rahmat (Rudi Junior), a rider well-known for securing victories on the track. The decision sparked high expectations.
When the starting gates opened, Qutban burst forward, immediately leading by two lengths, closely shadowed by Markoni. Meanwhile, Black Tander started a bit slow but gradually began closing in.
The tension peaked mid-race as Black Tander and Qutban locked into an intense duel. Their bodies even bumped several times, drawing gasps from the crowd.
But this chaos created the perfect opening for Zul Hendri, Markoni’s jockey. Spotting the rivals exhausting each other, he made a bold move—cutting in along the inside rail—and it worked!
Markoni surged ahead, leaving Qutban and Black Tander still battling behind. As the finish line loomed, no one could catch her. Victory was sealed with style and a masterful strategy.

1st Place: Markoni – Serumpun Stable, Payakumbuh
